Steve Griffin

Steve has worked in the education field for over 30 years and is beginning his 11th year as Assistant Athletic Director for Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD.  Prior to his current position, he served as the Boswell High School principal for 3 years, seeing the school through its renovation process.  Steve also served as campus principal of Prairie Vista Middle School opening the school in 2007.  He began his school career in 1989 working for Joshua High School where he served 3 years as the head coach and was one of the youngest head coaches in class 4A at the time.  After his 5 year stint at Joshua, he became the Carter Riverside High School head basketball coach winning a district championship during his tenure.  While working at Joshua and Carter Riverside, he coached various other sports including football, cross country, golf, and tennis.  Steve moved into his current administrative role after his 9-year coaching career.  Mr. Griffin’s primary responsibilities involve overseeing our middle school athletic programs, 6th  grade PE,  the hiring process of coaches and working with community partners to provide access for our students to gain quality training throughout the year.  Steve has participated on several site-based management teams, was a member of the Aspire 2022 committee and is a member of THSADA and THSCA.  Steve earned a Master’s Degree from the University of North Texas and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  Mr. Griffin and his wife have one daughter, Haley.
