Josh Stone

Coach Stone is a 2009 graduate of Boswell High School, where he was a two-year letterman in football and a three-year letterman in baseball. Stone went 9-1 in 2009 to be named as a First Team All-District pitcher.

In college, Stone pitched for the Midland Chaps, going 3- 5 with 5 saves and a 2.31 ERA. He then went on to play at Abilene Christian University for a year before playing Summer Ball in the Jayhawk Collegiate League. Pitching for the El Dorado Broncos, he led the team to a third place finish at the National Baseball Congress World Series and was named the NBC World Series Most Valuable Pitcher, All-American, as well as Jayhawk League First Team All Conference Pitcher. Coach Stone transferred to Tabor College where he graduated with a degree in Sports Management. At Tabor, he compiled an ERA of 1.81, with a record of 8-3 with 1 save. He was named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and a Gold Glove recipient. The summer after his senior year at Tabor, Coach Stone signed a free agency contract to pitch for the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association. Mixed in outings as a starter and reliever, he finished the season was an ERA of 4.78 in 21 appearances.

Stone spent his first year coaching at El Dorado High School in Kansas before moving back to Texas. He coached football and baseball for three years as the pitching coach at Mineral Wells High School before being hired as the head baseball coach. After being in the head role for a year, Stone made the move to his alma mater to become the pitching coach at Boswell. He was a part of the 2021 District 3-6A Champions with a record of 23-12-3 and selected as District 3-6A Baseball Staff of the Year. The Boswell pitching staff threw for a district ERA of 1.53 over 100 innings. 

Coach Stone and his wife, Sarah, have been married for four years and have a two-year-old son, Cannon.
