Tuesday was the last night of District games for the Pioneers with Boswell celebrating the seniors of the team. The boys in blue jumped into the fray after pictures with family into a fierce competition against the Lake Ridge Eagles. There were several times in the first half that the Pioneers came close to scoring and being scored on, the latter blocked by a number of fine saves from Aidan Murray, that kept the game in a close stalemate almost up to half time. Santi Caceres put Boswell up on the scoreboard after a sharp free kick, making the game 1-0. Sadly, however, the Eagles pressed back hard going into the second half and were able to break the Pioneer defense for a come-from-behind win, ending the match 1-2 for Boswell. Despite the loss, the boys have still fought their way into the playoffs, their first appearance since 2017.
The Pioneers are on the road on Thursday, March 20, to take on Byron Nelson at Northwest Texan Stadium in the first round.
