Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD is proud to announce Jamison Heiskell as the Head Boys Track and Field Coach at Boswell High School. Coach Heiskell was previously the interim head coach, and had the interim tag removed after Wes Weaver was named the Campus Coordinator/Head Football Coach in March.
Heiskell is in his 15th year as a teacher, and tenth as a coach. He will coach the varsity cornerbacks and the secondary for the Pioneer football team.
“Coach Heiskell has done an outstanding job with our student athletes at Boswell,” Athletic Director Brent Barker said. “He has a great relationship with colleagues and students, and always gets the maximum effort out of his teams. We are fortunate to have him at Boswell.”
He began his coaching career in Missouri at Warrensburg High School in 2006, before making the transition to Texas. He started in Fort Worth ISD in 2008 and started coaching there in 2015. He came to EMS ISD as an assistant football coach at Wayside Middle School in 2018, and joined the Boswell Pioneers the next year.
In his time as a Boswell Pioneer, he has coached hurdles, relays, and sprinters; and has produced several district champions, regional qualifiers, regional finalists, and medalists. As a member of the Pioneer football staff, he helped lead them to back-to-back playoff berths, and a bi-district championship in 2021.
A native Texan, Coach Heiskell grew up in Dallas and attended Wilmer Hutchins High School. While there, he lettered in track, football, and basketball. He was a playoff qualifier in football and basketball his junior and senior year and was a state finalist in the 300m hurdles his senior year.
Upon graduating high school, he attended Cisco Junior College on a football scholarship, and earning all-conference honors. He finished his collegiate career playing football and running track at the University of Central Missouri, graduating in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
“I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to lead the Pioneer Track and Field team,” Coach Heiskell said. “We have a dynamic group of athletes returning. I look forward to collaborating with these athletes in the classroom, off-season, and on the track. I’m thrilled to see their hard work and dedication truly pay off in the spring.”
Coach Heiskell married his wife Kimberly in 2020. Kimberly is the Coordinator of Risk Management for Human Resources in EMS-ISD. He and his wife have two children: Harrington & Hendrix.
Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District and Boswell High School are pleased to welcome Coach Heiskell to his new role and look forward to many more successful seasons ahead!
