Tuesday was a nail-biter for the Lady Pioneers, battling a ferocious bout against Mansfield Legacy. The girls in blue showed great grit and determination in the face of this intense matchup, and though they eventually fell behind, they made sure it was no easy task to overtake them. The set resulting in a Boswell victory sported the greatest point gap of the night, ending in 25-15, while the others were so closely contested that it was razor thin. Sets one, three, and four concluded with a final score of 23-25, 25-27, and 23-25 respectively, showing that the Lady Pioneers were on the ball throughout the evening and aggressively pursued their opponents while offering very little respite. Senior Avery Cartwright led the offense with 13 kills, while sophomore Emily Brister and freshman Peyton Jackson added 10 each. Sophomore Emma Stuhr paced the team with 24 assists, and junior Maribel Longspaugh anchored the defense with a team-high 22 digs.
Friday, September 19th, the Lady Pioneers are up against another Mansfield team in the form of Lake Ridge.
