Friday was a nail-biter for the Pioneers, taking the pitch against the Crowley Eagles for the second time this season. Last time the boys in blue met the birds in battle, it was a close match that ended in a narrow defeat for Boswell, and they were determined to ensure history did not repeat itself. Both side played a strong defensive game in the first half, stopping advances dead in their tracks before aggressively pushing to secure a goal. Crowley just barely managed to sneak a point at the first half's end, going into the second ahead by one. The latter two quarters was all about offense. The Pioneers responded to the scoreboard update with several points of their own in rapid succession. Andrew Mendez and Sebastian Zavala led the comeback, scoring three times between the two of them with a teamup on the final goal in the final seconds of the game to put the boys in blue over the top 3-2.
Boswell travels to Crowley on Tuesday, March 3rd, to take on the North Crowley Panthers.
