Thursday was a good day for the boys and girls in blue. Back on their home turf for the last in-season meet of the year, it was a literal race to the finish line as the athletes raced to punch their tickets for the upcoming Area meet.
The Lady Pioneers brought home a great victory as a team by placing 3rd overall. Brooklyn Dotts captured the district title in the 1600m and snagged second in the 800m with Ella Darbishire close behind her, and Eunice Tshiteya qualified in the both the 1600m and the 3200m. In the field, Rocio Montano and Hudson Norwich secured their spots in pole vault and discus respectively, and the 4x100 and 4x200 relay squads advanced on to the next round with them.
On the gentlemen's side of the track, Alessandro Keating led the distance crew and qualified in the both the 1600m and 3200m.
Every advancing athlete heads to Weatherford for the Area Championship on Thursday, April 16th.
