The cold proved quite the test for the Pioneers on Thursday before the ice-over. The visiting Mansfield took to the pitch with force and had the boys in blue on their back foot playing defense. Several errors unfortunately led to a 0-3 lead on the part of their opponents, but it lit a fire that drove the Pioneers to rally and get themselves on the board. A final concession allowed Mansfield to score one more time before the clock ran down, ending the evening with a heartbreaking 1-4 defeat for Boswell. Thought it was not the outcome they strove for, the team learned a lot about the competition and look forward to putting the lessons to use later in the season at their inevitable rematch.
The Pioneers are back on their home turf Friday, February 6th, to battle it out against North Crowley.
