The Pioneers took down Mansfield in a big win at home on Friday, Sept. 2. Tied 20-20 at the half, the Pioneers shutout the Eagles while scoring 21 points. Offensive leaders were QB Sawyer Farr who played one of his best games throwing for almost 400 yards and five TDs. Gage Ellis again added super plays at WR with 177 yards receiving two TDs. Sophomore Kairel Robertson had a huge coming out party with 134 yards receiving two TDs. Ezra Carter put the weight on his shoulders and toughed out 110 yards rushing. The Pioneers had over 500 yards offensively for the second week in a row. Defensively the Pioneers were led by Jaedon Langley's eight tackles and spectacular five QB sacks. Nick Hawthorne had an interception. Linebackers Eddie De Leon and Matthew Becker recorded 11 tackles each and Becker added two sacks. Defensive Linemen Braydon Gleva and Gabe Wright had big performances with six and five tackles respectively. Alex Rosales had eight tackles as well. Safety Henry Marvie led the secondary with nine tackles. Kicker Eric Trejo made two field goals at 36 and 28 yards.

The Pioneers take on the Haltom Buffalos this Thursday at the Birdville FAAC Stadium at 7:00 p.m. for their first road game.
