The Pioneers took to the mat in the EMS Shootout on Thursday night, facing formidable opponents Chisholm Trail and Saginaw. The meet served as a platform to honor three senior boys for their commendable achievements, both academically and in the wrestling arena. Despite putting up a strong fight, the boys experienced a setback with a 48-12 loss against Chisholm Trail and a 36-24 loss against Saginaw.

The Lady Pioneers claimed victory in the Saginaw dual with a score of 36-27, highlighted by impressive performances from Ainsley Suggs and Joceline Bilolo. However, the team faced a setback in the dual against Chisholm Trail, concluding with a score of 30-36.

The Pioneers are gearing up for the District tournament scheduled for next Saturday, Feb. 3, at Timber Creek. The competition will be fierce as the top four wrestlers from each weight class will secure spots to advance to the Regional Championship on Feb. 9-10 at Thomas Coliseum in Haltom.
