The Pioneers came out swinging on their Halloween senior night matchup against the Weatherford Kangaroos. Though their opponents fought valiantly and forced the boys in blue to hustle, Boswell persevered through adversity and racked up enough points to keep themselves ahead of the visiting team all night. By the final buzzer, the Pioneers were nine ahead and ended off a nail-biter of a showdown with a 44-35 victory. Linebacker Noah Carstens was the tip of the spear on defense, forcing two kangaroo fumbles, one of which was recovered by safety Isaiah Nash, and Cornerback John Morales sealed a blue and gold victory with an interception. Offensively, the boys had their best game of the season, as per Coach Wes Weaver. Quarterback Dju Dju Lords threw for 320 yards and four TDs, one to wide receiver Peyton Rhodes and three to running back Chance Lassiter. Fellow RB Jace Richardson also found the end zone on the ground.
Boswell is on the road once more for their final in-season game Friday, November 7th, taking on the Mansfield Lake Ridge Eagles.
