BOSWELL TAKES SECOND PLACE AGAINST ROCKWALL

Boswell takes second place against Rockwall

Boswell gymnastics hosted Rockwall High School in a meet on Thursday, Dec. 1. The boys team took on the defending state champions and placed 2nd in the meet. There were lots of bright moments in the meet for the boys but Rockwall was too strong to beat as a team. Top places in the competition for the Pioneers included Danny Martin placing fourth in the All-Around followed by Tanner Snyder in fifth and Tyler Snyder in sixth place in the All-Around. Martin placed second on the Vault, fifth on the Horizontal Bar and seventh on the Parallel Bars. Tyler Snyder placed fifth on Vault, and seventh on the Rings. Tanner Snyder took third on Vault. P.J. Selario was seventh on the Pommel Horse. "The guys showed great spirit and support for each other all night and never gave up on each other," said Coach Averitte.

The girls placed 2nd out of 2 teams with a score of 112.70. Top placements for the girls team included Allyncia Williams fourth in the All-Around followed by Katelyn Kirklin in fifth place and McKinley Camacho finishing 6th in the All-Around. Williams won the Floor event and placed third on Vault. Kirklin was fourth on Vault and tied for third in the Floor event. Camacho tied for fifth on Vault and finished sixth on Bars. Ruby Kaczor took fifth on Floor. Williams and Gia Velez tied for sixth on the Balance Beam.

Boswell will compete in the Key City Invite in Abilene on Friday, Dec. 9.
