Despite the unexpected rain before kickoff, the Pioneers didn't let the dreary weather dampen their spirits, showing true grit in the face of their long-time friendly rival in the Rough Riders. All four quarters were filled to the brim with pulse-pounding action that had the audience on their feet as the boys fought tooth and nail to maintain their hold over the coveted Wagon Wheel. Sadly, coming up with a final score of 33-46, it wasn't the night that Boswell had hoped for, but it did not take away from the many accomplishments performed by the talented athletes on the turf.
Dju Dju Vigil threw for nearly 200 yards and had a touchdown pass to Jaxon Trammell and Chance Lassiter was the leading rusher and receiver of the evening for the Pioneers. Defensively, Brandt Williams had his 1st INT of the year and nearly returned for a touchdown, and Christian Carrington recovered a fumble forced by Maui Peters-Alo. It was night for impressive plays all around.
The Pioneers head to Birdville this Friday, Sept. 13th, to take on the Haltom Buffaloes at 7 pm.
