The duel against the Tigers marked the opener in district play for the Pioneers, but sadly, the evening did not go Boswell's way. An intense match ended in a one score difference of 40-41, and even then the final results do little to reflect just how strong the Pioneers were on the turf. In the realm of defense, Christian Lassiter was the man to look to, intercepting a forward pass in the endzone that stopped a Tiger drive dead in its tracks in the first half. Maui Peters-Alo was seemingly in multiple places at once with the amount of tackles he made, and Nate Rosales and Anthony Villari both served as strong anchors in the defensive middle. When the ball was in Pioneer possession, Chance Lassiter tallied over 320 yards in total offense, with receivers Kariel Robertson and Peyton Rhodes pulling in 7 passes each and Jaxon Trammell nailing a 30 yd reception that set Boswell up to score in the next play.
Friday, Oct. 4th, sees the Pioneers traveling to Crowley ISD stadium to face the eponymous Crowley High School.
