The Pioneers came back with a vengeance on Friday, accomplishing their own come-from-behind victory in their battle against the Haltom Buffalos. Their first half started out rough, with their opponents managing to find small chips in their defenses and pulling ahead 24-7. Albeit with the roles reversed, it was a familiar situation that played out during the Wagon Wheel game, and the boys in blue were adamant on finishing this game the same way. This was exactly what they did coming out of half time, kicking it into overdrive on both sides of the ball to completely halt the Buffalos' scoring trend and blowing past them with four additional points by the time the final buzzer rang. Boswell ended out the night with a win of 28-24.
Leading the defense were Edgar Trevino, Isaac Bondonga, and Nate Rosales, the latter of whom made an impressive nine tackles throughout the evening. Offensively, Jace Richardson was at the tip of the spear, running for 233 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries. Peyton Rhodes led in receptions and Dju Dju Lords scored the winning touchdown from 40 yards out with less than two minutes on the clock.
This Friday, September 19th, the Pioneers celebrate their 2-1 season with a Homecoming game against the Forney Jackrabbits.
