The last two days have been an intense Bi-District for the boys in blue. Boswell started off extremely strong on Wednesday on their home turf, going extra innings as the two team remained neck-and-neck at 0-0 through seven innings. Sadly, a well-timed double from the visiting team put Southlake Carroll over the top in the eighth, bringing home two that stole the win. Landon Granger was the starter and star pitcher for the first game, surrendering zero runs over seven innings with zero walks and striking out nine.
On Thursday, the Pioneers made the journey into the heart of the Dragons' lair, but emerged triumphant. A trio of singles in the top of the second put Boswell up early on by one run thanks to Bryce Guyton. Colton Coursey and Peyton Rhodes built on the foundation by helping to drive in two runs each for the Pioneers later on. Casey Dalton led the charge on defense, giving up six hits and four runs over four innings, but striking out three, and Xander Thacker came in to collect the save in the latter innings. The boys' teamwork brought in two more runs than the home team, earning them a 6-4 victory.
Friday, May 1st, the Pioneers take on Southlake Carroll one last time at Richland for the right to move on to the next round.
