The Pioneer Cross Country teams competed at the Athletic Performance Ranch for the District 3-6A Championships on Friday, Oct 14. The Lady Pioneers won the District title for the third consecutive year. They finished six runners in the top 10 including Lola Deane, Julissa Almodovar, Brooklyn Dotts, Grace Pineda, Ashlyn Crossland, and Ella Cushman. Deane was the 2022 District Individual Champion with a time of 19:14. The girls team will compete at the Regional Championships in Lubbock on Oct. 24.
The boys team finished fourth in a very tight team race. They fought hard and finished just 20 points behind Weatherford barely missing the last team qualifying spot. Junior Owen Bowles finished 10th place and secured a spot to the Regional Championship. Good luck Pioneers!
