The Pioneer swim teams competed in the District 3-6A Championships on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center in Fort Worth. Boswell had a successful district meet against a tough slate of teams. The Pioneers finished third overall in a tight race between the top three teams. "This was a meet like no other," said Coach Hudson. "Two girls relay records from 2001 were broken and both were almost five seconds faster than any relays we have had in the past 12 years." The team had two district champions, Kevin Mahmoodi in the 50 Freestyle and Avery Mason in the 100 Butterfly. Boswell also had three district runner-ups; Mahmoodi 100 Freestyle, Mason 50 Freestyle, and Lily Craft 100 Backstroke. Other individual event medalists included Cameron Andrews in the 500 Freestyle, Izzy Longspaugh in the 100 Breaststroke, and Craft in the 200 Individual Medley. Fourteen swimmers (9 girls and 5 boys) advance to the Regional competition in Midland on Feb. 3-4.
