Lady Pioneers take 8th out of 45 teams at Southlake Invitational; Lola Deane sets new school record

The Boswell cross country teams competed at the Southlake Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 26. The meet at Bob Jones Park featured over 300 runners in each category. The Lady Pioneers had an impressive start to the meet, achieving a team average of 19:00 for the 5k and finishing eighth out of 45 teams. Notably, all of them set personal best records with Lola Deane standing out by breaking the school's cross country 5k record with a time of 18:05.90. Grace Pineda (18:55.60) and Brooklyn Dotts (19:04.20) rounded out the top three for the girls team.

The boys team also put on excellent performances, each improving their times by nearly a minute. The top three finishers for the boys were Jonah Fraire (17:37.20), Shane Noviski (17:46.10) and Peyton Rhodes (17:52.60)

The Pioneers will compete next at the Coach T. Marcus Invitational at North Lakes Park on Saturday, Sept. 2.
