Boswell cross country senior Lola Deane and sophomore Brooklyn Dotts made their mark at the UIL State Cross Country Championships held in Round Rock at Old Settler's Park on Saturday, Nov. 4. They represented Boswell as the first team members to advance to the state level in the 6A division and delivered phenomenal performances. Coach Ruiz highlighted their ability to navigate a swift start and establish themselves in good positions on the course. "The UIL 6A division stands as one of the nation's toughest divisions and I'm very proud of how they performed this season," he added. Among 152 participants, Deane placed 42nd with a time of 18:37, while Dotts secured the 58th spot with a time of 18:54. Both students have bright futures; Deane is committed to running cross country and track at the University of Tulsa, and Dotts' performance indicates a promising path for her final two years at Boswell. Congratulations to Lola and Brooklyn on their achievements this season! Catch both of them at the track running this spring with the Pioneers' track team.
