BOSWELL SWIM TAKES FOURTH AT DISTRICT; 14 ATHLETES ADVANCE TO REGIONALS

Boswell Swim takes fourth at District; 14 athletes advance to Regionals

Boswell Swim had a strong showing at the 3-6A District Championships on Jan. 27 at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. The boys finished in fourth place among seven teams at the district level. Tavin Nevill advanced to Regionals with a fourth place finish in the 200 Individual Medley and fifth in the 100 Breaststroke. Additionally, Josh Kelley, Leo Guillen, Mason Medlock, Ciaran Sippel and Gabriel Borrero advanced to Regionals in the 200 Freestyle Relay, the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.

The girls team also finished fourth overall. Izzy Longspaugh earned two medals with third place finishes in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke. Lily Craft secured fourth place in the 200 Individual Medley and third in the 100 Backstroke, nearly breaking a school record. Emersyn Mabry placed third in the 50 Freestyle while Janai Soto was fourth in the 100 Butterfly and fifth in the 500 Freestyle. Charlotte Ewert placed sixth in the 200 Freestyle. All five of these girls punched their tickets to Regionals for their individual events. Joining them at the Regional Meet are Aroa Garcia Carvajal, Tatum Harris and Rylee Williams (alternates Emrie O'Hara and Mallary Talbot) in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. Both relays placed fourth at the District Meet.

Athletes are set to compete at the Regional Championships on Feb 9-10 in Midland. Good luck Pioneers!
