Pioneers advance five athletes to the Regional Wrestling Touranment

The Boswell wrestling teams competed in the District 2-6A Wrestling tournament at Timber Creek last Saturday, Feb. 3. The boys team secured advancement to the Regional meet for three wrestlers. Senior Adam Zamora placed fourth in the 175 lb weight class. Junior Jeremiah Perez earned third in the 126 lb weight class and senior Zach Hudson took second in the 132 weight class. Josias Daniels and Owen Power claimed fifth place in the 120 and 215 weight classes and qualified as alternates.

The Lady Pioneers wrapped up their regular season with sophomore Nelly Avila placing sixth and sophomore Darlyeska Cordaway and freshman Klarissa Espinoza both securing fourth place. Cordaway and Espinoza punched their ticket for Regionals.

The Pioneers will wrestle at the Thomas Coliseum Feb. 9-10 for a chance to earn a spot for the State Wrestling Championships in Houston.
