BOSWELL TRACK PLACES SECOND AND SEVENTH AT DISTRICT; 11 ATHLETES ADVANCE TO AREA

Boswell Track places second and seventh at District; 11 athletes advance to Area

At the District 3-6A Championships hosted by Boswell on Apr. 3-4, the girls team secured the District Runner-up title while the boys team finished seventh overall. The girls team had three district champions Brooklyn Dotts in the 3200m, Mackenzie Hill in the Long Jump and Grace Pineda in the 1600m. All three punched their ticket to Area. Several other athletes qualified to advance to the Area Championships. The girls 4x100m Relay team, comprised of Emily Burton, Brianna Estrada, Hill and Tori Echols, set a school record of 47.72 and qualified. Dotts also secured spots in the 800m and 1600m, along with Julissa Almodovar in the 800m, Grace Pineda in the 3200m, Lola Deane in the 1600m, Ally Smith in High Jump and Tori Echols in the 400m. For the boys, Aiden Hatcher qualified in pole vault and Isaiah Murphy in triple jump.

The Area Championships will take place at Chisholm Trail Ranger Stadium on April 11.
